McLeish makes ‘incredible’ Everton claim after big-money Kean reveal
Everton have pulled off some “incredible business” to turn a profit on the exit of Moise Kean, according to Alex McLeish.
The former Scotland manager, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, heralded those in charge at Goodison Park for their transfer strategy.
Juventus announced Kean’s return, on a two-year loan deal with an obligation to buy, on Tuesday (31st August).
The Italian giants also outlined the total cost of the deal.
They will pay Everton £6million (€7million) in loan fees until the end of next season.
The Italian giants will then turn the move permanent for £24million (€28million), with a further £2.5million (€3million) in add-ons.
The total value of the deal could earn Everton, who agreed a deal worth a potential £27.5million (€30million) to sign Kean, around £32.5million.
McLeish lauded the Toffees for their impressive business sense.
“It is incredible business,” McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“I looked at Chelsea’s ins and outs as well over the last few years and their sums add up as well with the people who have come and gone.
“That’s exactly what we’re seeing here. It is good business from the people in the infrastructure. That’s what you need running a football club at the highest level.
“Over the last two or three seasons we’ve seen clubs like Fulham spend £150million and still get relegated. Sheffield United were similar.
“The strategy of these clubs that we’re talking about seems really, really good.”

Kean only played 39 times and scored four goals for the Toffees.
He spent last season out on loan to French giants PSG.
