McLeish makes 'incredible' McGregor prediction fans will love after Celtic news
Alex McLeish has claimed Callum McGregor looks destined to finish his career at Celtic after signing a new long-term deal.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland manager admitted the 28-year-old remaining a one-club player would be an “incredible achievement”.
As confirmed last week (24th September), McGregor has penned a new five-year contract at Parkhead.
He is now committed to the Bhoys until 2026, when he will turn 33-years-old.
A graduate of the youth ranks at Parkhead, McGregor’s only spell away was a season-long loan at Notts County.
He was named Celtic captain by Ange Postecoglou following Scott Brown’s departure this summer.

McLeish admitted speculation surrounding a potential move to the Premier League for McGregor had come to nothing.
He suggested the midfielder’s new contract points towards him remaining in Glasgow until he hangs up his boots.
“It looks like he’s going to end up a Celtic player his whole career,” McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“That is an incredible achievement. The speculation that possibly an English club would come in and nick him has proven unfounded.
“He loves the club. If he can get Celtic back into a winning groove, the fans will appreciate him even greater.”
McGregor has played a total of 337 times across all competitions for the Hoops since breaking through the youth ranks.
He has played 46 or more games for each of the last five seasons, including over 50 matches in three of those campaigns.
He has also picked up 37 international caps for Scotland, with one goal under his belt to date.
