McLeish tells Rangers to match Celtic transfer plan after Alfredo Morelos update
Rangers must sign another striker this summer if they are to compete for the Scottish Premiership.
That’s according to former Rangers and Scotland boss Alex McLeish, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the club’s next transfer.
As per the Daily Record (23 July), Rangers will not sign another striker this summer unless Morelos leaves the club.

The Columbian has entered the final year of his Ibrox deal and has played no part in pre-season due to an injury sustained at the end of the 2021-22 campaign.
Antonio Colak has joined the club and has already been heavily involved in pre0season games against West Ham, Blackpool and Tottenham.
However, McLeish insists Rangers need to copy Celtic and have three or four players capable of scoring if they are to win the title.
“The niggle last year was the reliance on Morelos for goals,” McLeish told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“They moved the pack around and Arfield played up there sometimes when everyone was injured. With Colak, the word was that he is not a prolific goalscorer.
“But there were moments in the West Ham game where he looked promising. They need reinforcement for the striker position.
“They still have Kemar Roofe, he was probably one of the main catalysts for winning the league a few years ago because he scored the most goals apart from Morelos.
“Celtic has three or four players who were exciting and scoring goals last season.
“That’s the kind of firepower Rangers need this season.”

Kyogo Furuhashi, Jota, Giorgos Giakoumakis and Liel Abada all reached double figures for Celtic last season.
James Tavernier finished as the Gers’ top scorer with 16 strikes to his name.
