McManus issues 'big' Sead Haksabanovic verdict after what he's seen at Celtic

Sead Haksabanovic could soon become a key player for Celtic after an impressive outing against Dundee United.

That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the winger’s recent performances.

Haksabanovic, 23, scored his first Celtic goals as his side beat Dundee United 4-2 on Saturday (5 November).

The winger moved to Parkhead in the summer after his contract with Rubin Kazan was temporarily suspended following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

McManus was blown away by Haksabanovic’s performance against Dundee United.

“He was excellent, I thought he was really good,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.

“In other games, he had shown bits and pieces that showed he might be a quality player, he just hadn’t put it all together.

“A performance like that will give him plenty of confidence, scoring two goals at Parkhead in front of the fans, you can’t ask for more than that.

“He took the goals well, especially the second one, a great finish across the keeper. He will be looking to cement his place now because there is so much competition for those forward places at Celtic.

“Jota, Forrest and Abada are all there trying to get in so when you are given your chance you have to take it and Haksabanovic did that in a big way.

“This could be the start of a run of good performances now.”

Celtic sit seven points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

They are next in action against Ross County on Saturday (12 November).
