Medical insider issues ‘headline-grabbing’ claim as Man United ‘conspiracy’ explained

There is no “conspiracy” around Brandon Williams and Alex Tuanzebe’s injuries at Man United.

That is the view of medical expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in injury and data analysis.

Both Williams and Tuanzebe have been unavailable all season but it is not clear what their issues are exactly.

As quoted by club media last week (18 October), Erik ten Hag revealed that the pair will not return to full training before Christmas.

“In terms of disclosure, there is no definitive guideline from the associations or the Premier League to tell you everything about every single aspect of the squad with injuries and management,” Dinnery told Football Insider‘s Connor Whitley.

“Secondly, I’ve never once heard Erik ten Hag refuse to disclose any information when asked directly.

“He even said Brandon Williams wouldn’t be involved in that first-team squad, he said when he’s fit he’ll be involved in team training.

“Axel Tuanzebe had a spell on loan last season, is he part of the first-team plans? You’re going to need some serious injuries to that backline for him to be considered.

“If you’re not asked directly for an opinion or a thought, we’re not talking about a Christian Eriksen.

“It’s not ideal. Some managers are forthcoming and lay all their cards on the table. But when it’s Man United and there’s a small window to ask questions it’s Europa League, it’s pushing in the league, it’s Cristiano Ronaldo, it’s all of these questions.

“Do you want to ask about Brandon Williams? With all due respect, it’s Ronaldo or Williams and you’ve got 20 minutes, 25 minutes.

“This is about headline-grabbing stuff. Unfortunately, they are not quite the draw like the other players.

“I don’t think there’s any conspiracy or any narrative from United to try and keep people off scent because these injuries are worse than they are saying.”

In other news, Man United superstars could now desert the club as a new Erik ten Hag plan is revealed.
