Medical scheduled for new Norwich signing as player jets into UK

Norwich City are closing in on the signing of Randers FC striker Mohamed Toure to boost their survival hopes.

The Canaries have been in a relegation battle for most of the season to date after a dreadful start to the campaign.

However, under Philippe Clement, Norwich has dramatically improved, and are now rising up the table.

Norwich’s 2-1 win over Coventry on Monday has seen them move up to 18th in the table, four points clear of the relegation zone.

Now, they are looking to ensure they aren’t dragged back into the bottom three, as they close in on Toure.

Norwich City set to secure Mohamed Toure from Randers FC

According to Sky Sports on 31 January, Norwich are set to sign Mohamed Toure from Randers FC.

The Canaries have agreed to pay an initial fee of £2.6million for the 21-year-old striker, with £400,000 worth of add-ons.

The Australia international has netted four times and picked up three assists this campaign in 17 Superligaen appearances.

Previously, Traore had played for Reims and Paris FC in France before moving to Randers FC, where he quickly became a hit in Denmark.

Now the five-cap Australia international is set to fly out to the UK on Saturday to undergo medical ahead of his move to Carrow Road.

With Norwich needing additional firepower up top, everything suggests that Traore can create as well as score goals, which could prove to make a big difference at the East Anglican club this season.

The challenge for Clement will be to ensure his transition to England and the Championship is as quick and as smooth as possible.

If he can do this, Norwich should have no trouble staying in the division this season and may even be able to break into the top half before the campaign’s end.

However, it remains to be seen if Traore is able to continue his form in England as he looks to take the next step in his career.
