Michael Beale told not to blame Celtic for Rangers ‘mess up’ as new financial details emerge – expert

Frank McAvennie has told Michael Beale not to blame the Celtic manager for the financial problems at Rangers.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker insisted that the Celts’ ability to spend big is a result of looking after their finances over the years.

As quoted by footballscotland (31 January), Ange Postecoglou insisted that his side have the biggest transfer budget because they are the biggest club in the country.

The Aussie added that his job is to maximise the money the club have at their disposal.

Last month (21 January), speaking to the BBC, Michael Beale defended his claim that Postecoglou was a “lucky man” given the amount of money he has to spend on transfers.

Beale claimed that the Celtic boss has spent more money in the last 12 months that Steven Gerrard was able to spend in three and a half years.

McAvennie agreed with Postecoglou’s comments.

Beale is trying to get the fans on his side,” he told Football Insider.

I do not disagree with Ange. Celtic have just looked after their money better than Rangers.

Celtic

I remember in the 80s and 90s Celtic were close to going bust. No matter what people say about Peter Lawwell he has looked after the finances for years at Celtic.

They are where they are now and can go and spend. The manager at Rangers should not blame Celtic for the mess up at Rangers football club.

In other news, Giorgos Giakoumakis could spark Celtic exodus after what pundit has seen.
