Michael Beale under ‘severe pressure’ at Rangers after what he’s just said – pundit

Frank McAvennie has told Michael Beale to take responsibility for poor performances from his Rangers team and suggests he will be fighting for his job if they lose again to Celtic this weekend.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Celtic striker said Beale is always blaming others but has never owned up to his failings.

The Gers were beaten 2-0 by Aberdeen last weekend in Beale’s second league defeat as Rangers boss.

Speaking to PLZ Soccer (23 April), the Light Blues boss claimed that Fashion Sakala was fouled before Liam Scales scored from distance to put the Dons in front.

As shown on Sky Sports (24 April), a left footed cross from Celtic loanee Scales sailed over Allan McGregor and into the back of the net before Bojan Miovski doubled the Dons’ lead.

McAvennie told Beale to stop blaming other factors and take responsibility.

I have not heard him take responsibility once, it is always somebody else’s fault,” he told Football Insider.

He is in a proper job now. Fans liked him because he was the tactician when Steven Gerrard was there and he did a great job but good coaches do not make good managers.

All the nonsense at QPR, I will never forget that. If he does not beat Celtic on Sunday he is under severe pressure to keep his job.

Rangers

The Gers are now 13 points behind their Glasgow rivals Celtic, who also dropped points at the weekend.

The sides face off in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden on Sunday (30 April) where Beale’s side will attempt to stop Celtic’s treble hopes.
