Michael Beale’s Celtic comments have ‘come back to bite him’ as footage emerges – expert

Frank McAvennie has suggested Michael Beale’s comments about Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou have “come back to bite him”.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker was pleased to see Postecoglou “getting one over” on the Rangers boss.

As shown on Sky Sports (27 May), during the Celts’ title celebrations after their last game of the season the Australian boss gave a rousing speech during which he called himself a “lucky man” for his second Scottish Premiership trophy in as many seasons.

Earlier this year, the Gers boss claimed that his derby rival manager was a “lucky man” as a result of the amount of money he has had to spend on transfers and building his squad.

McAvennie was pleased to see Beale’s comments come back to haunt him.

He [Postecoglou] seems to get luckier every year,” he told Football Insider.

Ange will be laughing because sometimes in football people say something and think ‘that is going to come back and bite me’.

Yes Ange had money but he spent it well, Rangers spent as much but they did not spend it as well as Ange did.

Even Beale would have gone home that night thinking ‘this is going to come back to bite me’.

Ange will play it out as long as it lasts and quite rightly so because that is what football is all about, having that banter as well and getting one over on your opposition.
