Michael Owen predicts Liverpool clash with Stoke, explains what is frustrating
By Amir Mir
Micheal Owen has backed both teams to score when Liverpool travel to Stoke for a Premier League clash on Saturday afternoon.
The former England striker expressed his frustration at how the Reds have only won half of their matches against teams in the bottom half of the Premier League.
Owen used the 2-2 draw against Bournemouth on Wednesday night at Anfield as an example with Jurgen Klopp’s side conceding a late goal during that fixture.
Dropped points in that game hurt the club’s chances of securing a top-four spot with the Champions League hopefuls closing in.
Ahead of what is yet another important game for Liverpool, Owen offered his thoughts on his former club and stated what they will do at the weekend.

“Liverpool reverted to type against Bournemouth midweek and it is so frustrating following the Reds this season given they have won just half of their games against sides who currently sit in the bottom half of the league,” Owen told BetVictor.
“Jurgen Klopp’s side are without a win in their last five away league games but they do score goals and I expect to see goals in the Potteries at the weekend.”
Over the course of the season, Klopp has seen his team secure impressive wins against those either above or in around them in the table.
However, teams that are either sitting in the bottom half or even fighting for relegation have managed to cause a few upsets against the Merseyside club.
Relegation-threatened duo Swansea and Hull both picked up wins against Liverpool, however, a not too dissimilar side saw off the threat of fellow Champions League chasers Tottenham and Arsenal.
Fifth-placed Arsenal have two games in hand on Klopp’s side and if they pick up six points from those matches then they could potentially go above them in the table.
In other Liverpool news, this defender could be axed for the clash against Stoke.
