Michael Owen predicts Tottenham clash against Burnley, states what has been outstanding

By Amir Mir

Michael Owen has backed Tottenham to beat Burnley in their Premier League clash at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon.

Former Liverpool striker Owen hailed the “outstanding” home form of Sean Dyche’s team who will be looking to cause another upset in front of their own supporters.

During this league campaign, the Englishmen has picked up points against the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Southampton, and Everton.

Now, he has the task of guiding his team past a strong Spurs side that is looking to finish in the Champions League places at the end of the campaign.

Ahead of the weekend fixture, former England international Owen gave his thoughts on why Burnley’s home form will not be enough.

“Despite Burnley’s outstanding home form so far this season, they are without a win in seven in all competitions and lost 1-0 to Non-League Lincoln City in their last home game,” Owen told BetVictor.

“Spurs will be without Harry Kane but they will be targeting maximum points from their trip to Turf Moor and I think they will pick up all three.”

The advantage for the home team will be that their opponents will be without their star striker Harry Kane who is currently on the sidelines with an injury.

However, they will still have to contend with the likes of Dele Alli, Son Heung-Min, Kyle Walker and Christian Eriksen.

This was proven prior to the international break when versatile attacker Son and attacking midfielder Alli scored to inflict a 2-1 defeat on Southampton.

By contrast, Burnley have not won a match since beating Leicester City 1-0 on home soil at the back end of January.

During the past few months, they have suffered defeats against the likes of Watford, Swansea and non-league side Lincoln City in the FA Cup.
