Micky Hazard delivers Tottenham verdict after Southampton win

By Dominic Toner

Micky Hazard was delighted with Tottenham’s win against Southampton on Wednesday and feels it’s a great achievement.

The Saints are well recognised for their form at home, but were outclassed by an impressive Spurs performance on Wednesday night.

The north London club ran out 4-1 winners at St Mary’s and they responded to going a goal behind to Virgil van Dijk’s second minute goal.

Dele Alli responded for the visitors and Harry Kane scored his 10th goal of the season to give them the lead.

Spurs were awarded a penalty as Nathan Redmond was shown a red card for a last man foul and Kane blazed over in comical fashion, but Heung-Min Son and Alli made sure of the points.

Ex-Spurs player Roberts praised the victory at the Saints and feels it was a great performance.

“Not many team will win at Southampton so a great day and great result,” Hazard wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Spurs strengthened their position on fifth in the Premier League table and are now just one point behind fourth-placed Arsenal.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are desperate to finish inside the top four this season and qualify for the Champions League.

They finished third last season and are keen to establish themselves as a top side in England, but their rivals have all improved drastically this campaign.

Current Premier League leaders Chelsea have enjoyed a remarkable turn around in form from last season and Liverpool are enjoying the same success under Jurgen Klopp.

In other Tottenham news, the club’s supporters were highly critical of their 22-year-old after his performance against Southampton.
