Micky Hazard believes Tottenham’s quarter-final FA Cup draw at home to Millwall gives his old side a huge chance to qualify for the semi finals.
Tottenham will face London rivals Millwall at White Hart Lane between the 10th and 13th of March, with a place in the final four the prize.
Hazard claimed on his personal Twitter account that Spurs now have a “great chance” to qualify, as well as stating that Arsenal have got “lucky” after drawing non-league outfit Lincoln City.
Spurs secured their place in the quarter finals after a comfortable 3-0 win at Craven Cottage on Sunday, that saw Harry Kane score a sublime hat-trick, taking his tally to 19 for the season.
League One outfit Millwall defied the odds to reach the last eight with a 1-0 win against Premier League champions Leicester City.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino could be eyeing the competition as a potential way of ending fans’ long wait for a trophy, which stretches back to their EFL Cup triumph in 2007-08.
The north London giants have won the FA Cup eight times in their history, last holding it aloft in 1990-91 under manager Terry Venables.
Hazard, who played for Spurs for seven years between 1978 and 1985 before returning in 1993, won the FA Cup with Spurs way back in 1982 as well as the UEFA Cup in 1984.
Elsewhere in the draw, Premier League title rivals Chelsea are set to play host to rivals Manchester United, while Middlesbrough face Manchester City at home, if Pep Guardiola’s side beat Huddersfield Town in a fifth-round replay.
In other Tottenham news, Kane has delivered this Twitter message to fans fresh from firing Spurs into the last eight.
