Under-fire star delivers Twitter verdict on Liverpool v Tottenham
By Danny Wright
Simon Mignolet has posted a tweet hailing Liverpool for their 2-0 victory over Tottenham on Saturday evening.
The goalkeeper kept his first clean sheet in 2017 as the Reds marched on to win courtesy of two first-half strikes from Sadio Mane.
The 28-year-old said on his personal Twitter page: “Great performance, great result but an even greater attitude to see the game out.
“This is the way forward Liverpool! “

Jurgen Klopp has found himself under pressure in recent weeks following a spate of poor performances from his Liverpool side which had seen them win only one game in 2017 before Saturday’s result.

The three points sees the Reds back inside the top four of the Premier League after dropping out of it last week due to the 2-0 loss to Hull.
However they could be back down to fifth place on Monday as Manchester City play Bournemouth.
The number one goalkeeping spot at Anfield has been a topic of much discussion this season after Loris Karius was bought in by Klopp in the summer to replace Mignolet as first choice.
However both keepers have failed to impress in a campaign which has seen Liverpool concede 30 goals so far – more than any other club in the top seven.
The former Sunderland keeper has made 18 appearances for Liverpool this season in all competitions, conceding 19 goals but only keeping six clean sheets.
He has come under-fire for mistakes in recent matches, including in the 2-0 loss to Hull, but this clean sheet will help to repair his confidence.
