Bielsa may be jeopardising Struijk as Leeds footage emerges - Mills
Marcelo Bielsa should not mess around with Pascal Struijk’s position and play him exclusively at centre-back for Leeds United, according to Danny Mills.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Whites and England defender insisted Struijk will find playing in midfield “really tough”.
The versatile Dutchman has started Leeds’ last three Premier League games and started at centre-back in their win over Norwich City last weekend.
As quoted by Leeds Live (31st October), Bielsa heaped praise on the 22-year-old who has “so many good things” in his game.
Asked for his assessment of Struijk’s season, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “He needs to settle down and have one position and play that position regularly. That’s the most important thing.
“When you start trying different positions, flipping between midfield and centre-half, it’s not great. That can be difficult and challenging at times.

“I’d like to see him just play that single position and be there more often than not.
“He’s probably played at centre-half for most of his life. He’s been taught those values – how to defend and when to defend. They’re fundamentals and vitally important to that position.
“Even if you’re a good player, to suddenly change that and be expected to do different things is really tough.
“I’d like to now see him in that solid position more often than not.
“You want to play, do your best for the team and help out. But sometimes you also want to be in your position doing what you do best.”
