Mills delivers verdict on Drameh heading out of Leeds as deal agreed

Marcelo Bielsa may have a replacement lined up for exit-bound Leeds United defender Cody Drameh.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Whites and England defender delivered his verdict as Drameh looks set to leave the club on loan this month.

Fabrizio Romano reported today (9 January) the young right-back is set to join Championship side Cardiff City on a temporary deal.

It is claimed they have beaten their south Wales rivals Swansea City to his signature and Premier League clubs will monitor his progress ahead of the summer.

Drameh has played three times in the Premier League this season and started the 4-1 defeat to Arsenal at Elland Road last month (18 December).

He came on as a substitute as the Whites crashed out of the FA Cup today (9 January) with a 2-0 defeat to West Ham in the third round.

Asked for his verdict on a potential move, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “It could be that somebody is coming in to replace him.

“But it could be that Bielsa doesn’t quite see them as up to speed or there are other players within the squad that he thinks he can use.

“He might think they are OK but he may have better players in there that he is happy to use.”

Drameh moved to Leeds from Fulham in the summer of 2020 after they were promoted to the Premier League.

The 20-year-old has featured for various England youth teams and made his Under-21 debut against Georgia earlier this season.
