Mills: Celtic told to make contact with Lampard after Howe twist
The door has opened for Celtic to appoint Frank Lampard after he pulled out of the running for the Crystal Palace job, according to Danny Mills.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-England and Premier League defender told the Hoops to get in contact with the ex-Chelsea boss and his advisors.
Football Insider revealed during the week Lampard had pulled out of the race to become the new Palace boss as he fears he could be sucked into a relegation battle next season.
And Mills has claimed Lampard may be a good appointment for the Glasgow giants.
He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Is Celtic an option [for Lampard], if Eddie Howe goes to Palace?

“You look at what Steven Gerrard has done and achieved…
“Frank’s worked with younger players well and the contacts that he and Jody [Morris] have with younger players could be a good option.
“There’s a little bit less pressure than there would be in the Premier League. It would be interesting.
“I guess it just depends on whether Frank wants to go up to Scotland with a young family and spend that time away.
“If I was Celtic, I’d certainly be talking to him or his advisors to see whether he would be interested.”
Football Insider revealed at the beginning of April that Howe had reached a verbal agreement to take over at Parkhead before having second thoughts.
John Kennedy has remained in interim charge since Neil Lennon’s resignation in February.
