Danny Mills has waxed lyrical about the fantastic job David Moyes is doing as West Ham United manager amid a big contract reveal.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former England defender revealed he has worked with the Scotsman in the media and has always been blown away by his knowledge and experience of the game.
Moyes has guided the Hammers to seventh in the Premier League just two points behind the top four and into the fifth round of the FA Cup.
The Guardian report the club are set to reward the 57-year-old with a new contract at the end of the season with his current deal expiring at the end of the campaign.
“I’ve always been a big, big fan of David Moyes,” Mills told Football Insider.
“Having worked with him in the media on a few occasions and had the pleasure and the privilege to sit down with him over a meal to chat football from time to time.
“Great knowledge, great experience.
“The job he did at Everton was second to none. He earned his stripes coming through the system and has been superb.
“He went to Manchester United and it was almost like having one hand tied behind his back. It was a poor squad that he inherited and he wasn’t given the players that he wanted. He was up against it.
“David Moyes does what David Moyes does. He gets team’s fit, he gets them organised, he gets them playing good football.”
West Ham are currently on an unbeaten run of seven games across all competitions after they beat Doncaster Rovers 4-0 in the FA Cup.
