Mills: Harrison tipped to explode at Leeds after signing announcement reveal
Danny Mills has tipped Jack Harrison to “kick on” at Leeds United with his loan deal set to be made permanent next week.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Whites and England defender insisted a permanent deal for the winger is risk-free after he spent the last three seasons on loan at Elland Road.
Football Insider learned on 24 June Leeds will finalise the signing of Harrison on 1 July and it may be formally announced shortly after.
He signed another season-long loan deal with an option to buy last summer and thoroughly impressed in his debut Premier League campaign.
The 24-year-old ended the season with eight goals and eight assists from his 36 top-flight appearances.
“It’s one of those where you’re thinking ‘Is it not already done?'” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“I think everyone assumed it was done and dusted absolutely ages ago.
“It can go one of two ways. When you’re on loan you’re on trial effectively, trying to prove yourself and earn that move. That has its own pressures. When it turns permanent you can be a bit more relaxed and that can help improve you.
“There are times we’ve seen players become a little bit complacent when they’re not fighting for that contract. From what I’ve seen of Jack Harrison, I don’t see that happening. I see him continuing in the vein of form he had.
“That’s the advantage Leeds have. They’ve had him for what feels like 10 years on loan. They know him inside out, he knows the area, he’s happy here, he understands everything about the club.
“In this instance, I see this being good for both parties. It’s been a three-year loan and now he’s settled and he can kick on.”
