Mills digs at Bamford's agent after Leeds reveal 'drummed up'
Danny Mills has tipped Leeds United to tie Patrick Bamford to a new contract after digging at his agent for “drumming up” Tottenham link.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Whites and England defender dismissed speculation linking Bamford to the Premier League giants.
The Telegraph reported on 15 August Leeds are trying to secure their striker to a new deal.
It is claimed the 27-year-old is on Spurs’ radar as they look for somebody to support Harry Kane.
Bamford was the second-highest scoring Englishman in the Premier League last season behind Kane.
He scored 17 times in 37 top-flight appearances as the Whites finished ninth.

Asked for his assessment of Bamford’s situation, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild: “Speculation, rumours, agents, drumming things up with the Tottenham link.
“I’m not sure how serious that is. Is he a replacement for Harry Kane? I wouldn’t say so.
“Harry Kane’s exceptional. He’s done it time and time again, season after season.
“Bamford had a fantastic season last season in the Premier League but up to that point you’d have to say it was sporadic.
“Of course he did great last season and he’s integral to the way Leeds play. If they can give him another couple of years then everybody’s happy. He’s rewarded and feels wanted and the club have a bit of security.”
Bamford has not signed a new contract since putting pen to paper on a four-year deal when he arrived from Middlesborough in 2018.
He has scored 43 times and provided 14 assists in 111 games across all competitions for the Yorkshire giants.
