Mills makes ‘huge’ Leeds claim ahead of Norwich showdown

Leeds United will be full of confidence ahead of their game against Norwich City, according to Danny Mills.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Whites and England defender claimed to salvage a late draw against Wolves was “huge” for morale.

Leeds were trailing for the vast majority of the game after Hwang Hee-Chan opened the scoring in the 10th minute.

They earned a point thanks to a Rodrigo penalty deep into stoppage time at the end of the second half.

It was only their seventh point of the season as they sit in 17th-place in the Premier League.

Norwich are in an even worse predicament having picked up only two points all season.

The Canaries are coming into the game on the back of a 7-0 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last week.

Asked what the impact of last week’s draw at Elland Road will be on the Leeds squad, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “It’s huge.

“If you lose that game, you’re right up against it. You salvage a point, it feels like a bit of a win.

“All of a sudden, you go into a really crucial game with Norwich with confidence. You’re thinking ‘If we win this game, we can get ourselves heading right up the table’.”

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Marcelo Bielsa claimed Norwich will put in extra effort this weekend after losing so heavily at Stamford Bridge.

They are bottom of the table with a goal difference of minus-23 after nine games.
