Mills: Moyes has just pulled off a ‘brilliant move’ with West Ham deal for Zouma
Danny Mills claims West Ham have played a blinder after they signed Kurt Zouma from Chelsea.
The former Leeds defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insists Zouma will thrive under David Moyes.
Zouma was announced as a West Ham player on Saturday evening, bringing an end to his seven-year spell with Chelsea.
He is West Ham’s first outfield signing for the summer with Moyes looking to build on last year’s impressive league campaign.
Zouma fell out of favour when Thomas Tuchel came into Chelsea last winter but still picked up a Champions League winners medal at the end of the season.
During his time at Stamford Bridge the defender was never the first name on the teamsheet, something Mills insists will change now he’s moved clubs.
“He’s going to a very good manager,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“David Moyes is a very good manager, defensively he’s very solid and sound.
“I think we’ll see consistency from Zouma, a consistency you don’t get with the other West Ham defenders.
“He will play week in week out as well, it’s a brilliant move. It’s the right sort of money.
“I also think it’s the right move for the player as well.”

West Ham have started their Premier League season in electric form but the defence has still looked vulnerable.
It was this defence that let West Ham down as they hunted a Champions League spot last season, they instead had to settle for Europa League football.
