Mills: Rangers may be about to offload Arfield after confirmed news
Rangers may be set to bin Scott Arfield after he revealed there had been no negotiations over a new contract.
That is the view of ex-England and Premier League star Danny Mills, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Arfield’s future after he made just his second Rangers start since August against Brondby in the Europa League last night.
As quoted by the Scottish Sun ahead of the game, the midfielder revealed he had not heard anything about a new deal.
His current Ibrox contract is set to expire at the end of the season in May.
After making his first start since August against Motherwell, he retained his place in the 1-1 draw with Brondby.
He ended the game with a 96 per cent pass accuracy – the highest of any player to play at least 45 minutes, according to sofascore.

Asked whether Rangers will let Arfield leave at the end of his contract, Mills told Football insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “You would expect so.
“If they’ve not come to you already and offered you something you have to be thinking about moving elsewhere.
“At 33, Rangers are probably thinking and have started to look at younger players.
“They’ve got enough experience and older players in the squad that they don’t need another.”
Arfield’s 154 Rangers games across all competitions have yielded 29 goals and 18 assists.
The 19-cap Canada international has scored once but is yet to register an assist in 14 appearances across all competitions this term.
