Mills slams 'lazy' and delusional ex-Tottenham star Aurier after Arsenal news
Danny Mills has insisted Serge Aurier has little chance of sealing a move to Arsenal after he quit Tottenham.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Leeds United and England defender claimed Aurier is being “lazy” and needs to be realistic about his next move.
Sky Sports reported on 1 September Spurs cancelled Aurier’s contract by mutual consent despite interest from Watford, Real Betis, Spartak Moscow and Genoa but he felt he should be playing at a higher level.
The same outlet reported yesterday (2 August) he is open to a move to Tottenham’s bitter rivals Arsenal.
“I think Arsenal need some better players than Serge Aurier if they are going to sort things,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“I really don’t see him fixing their problems. They need defenders that defend.

“We’d all be open to a move to Arsenal! I’d take the money.
“Is that him just being lazy? He doesn’t want to move too far. That’s how it seems ‘Can’t be bothered to move. North London? That would suit me.
“Somebody’s got to actually want you, it’s a slight difference.
“With Watford, he might want to revisit that and chat with a few people, if he thinks he is better than that.”
Aurier spent four years as a Tottenham player and played 110 games across all competitions in that time.
He chipped in with eight goals and 17y assists but did not feature under new manager Nuno Espirito Santo this term.
