Mills tells Leeds fans to 'calm down' amid 'sensational' verdict
Danny Mills has warned Leeds United fans to temper their expectations as things could go horribly wrong next season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Whites and England defender pointed to the example of Sheffield United of a club that can have a disastrous second season in the Premier League.
Leeds could secure a top-half finish in their first season back in the top-flight in over 15 years with three games left to play.
Sheffield United finished in ninth last season but will likely finish this season rock bottom of the Premier League with just 17 points in 35 games so far.
“If Leeds were to finish 10th again next season that would be a fantastic season,” Mills told Footballl Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“I know people are saying ‘Go on, let’s kick on to Europe.’ But hang on a minute, just calm down a little bit. Don’t get ahead of yourself.

“Look at what’s happened to Sheffield United. Look at what’s happened to other teams in the past. Things can change very, very quickly. Almost in a blink of an eye. That’s the last thing that you need.
“You’ve now got to go again and build on that.
“What Leeds have achieved in the last two seasons has been sensational and he’s [Bielsa] done it with all those players playing beyond their means.
“Can he do that again for a third season in a row? It will be very, very difficult. He’ll be looking at it and thinking ‘Right Ok, where and how can I add more quality to the squad?’”
Bielsa has spent three seasons in charge at Elland Road – his longest spell in club football.
His current contract is set to expire but Andrea Radrizzani recently told L’Equipe he is confident the Argentine will commit for next season.
