Mills: Tottenham tipped to sign Ings after ‘concrete’ news
Tottenham should look to sign Danny Ings even if Harry Kane remains at the club, according to Danny Mills.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Leeds United and England defender insisted the Southampton star wants to leave the club.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein reported on 5 July Ings has turned down a new contract with the Saints and wants to test himself at a bigger club.

The 28-year-old now has 12 months left to run on his Southampton contract.
Football Insider revealed on 9 July Man United are in pole position to sign Kane following a behind-the-scenes development.
Asked whether Ings could be a good alternative if Kane quits the club, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Definitely.
“He’s probably on their radar anyhow, even if Kane was to stay because you’ve got to be able to give him a rest.
“We’ve seen Harry Kane look a little bit jaded. All these players are going to have another long, hard season after this one.
“They’re going to need rest at certain points. They’re going to need other players to come in who can do a job. Not for 10 minutes but for two or three games at times.
“Ings is a quality striker and the fact he’s turned down a contract strongly suggests he’s not happy and wants to leave.”

Ings has scored 55 goals and provided 13 assists in 140 Premier League games across spells with Burnley, Liverpool and Southampton.
The three-time England international found the net 12 times in 29 top-flight fixtures last term.
In other news, Tottenham are confident of agreeing the sale of an international after doubling the asking price.
