Mills verdict on Levy giving Romero special treatment after ‘massive’ Tottenham news
Tottenham are right to not give Cristian Romero special treatment and fine him for going against the club’s wishes and travelling to South America, according to Danny Mills.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Leeds United and England full-back insisted Spurs cannot treat Romero differently to Giovani Lo Celso.
Sky Sports reported on September 7 the duo will be given hefty fines for joining up with the Argentina national team over the international break.

The club did not want them to go and it is claimed Spurs do not want to damage their relationship with Romero but feel they need to send a strong message.
The defender moved to north London from Atalanta in a loan-to-buy deal this summer and has only played one minute of Premier League football.
Asked whether it may have been a good idea for Daniel Levy to give the 23-year-old special treatment, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “No, you can’t fine one and not the other.
“He may well have said beforehand ‘I’m going on this international camp’. There has obviously been a massive communication on Covid and entry requirements and all these types of things. There’s been a massive ‘mess-up’, in want of a better word.

“The players will have known there could have been recourse in making that decision to go and they’ve gone.
“If you had any other employee in any other job and the company said ‘We don’t want you to go there because you won’t be able to work for 10 days when you come back. If you choose to go, we’re not going to pay you for those 10 days when you come back’. Would anybody say that’s wrong? No, they would say that’s fair.”
