Milos Kerkez reacts to Dean Huijsen’s emotional Bournemouth farewell amid Liverpool rumours

Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez has reacted to Dean Huijsen’s emotional goodbye message, as the centre back moves to Real Madrid.

The Cherries ended their Premier League campaign with a 2-0 win over already-relegated Leicester, with Antoine Semenyo getting both of the goals.

It was Huijsen’s last game on the south coast before joining Madrid, and the Spaniard leaves after helping Andoni Iraola’s side to their best ever Premier League points total.

At one stage in the season, it looked as if Bournemouth could be fighting for a European spot, but in the end they had to settle for a 9th-place finish.

Huijsen sends emotional farewell

Huijsen only joined Bournemouth last summer, moving to the south coast from Juventus as a highly-rated 19-year-old.

The centre back impressed, featuring 32 times during his debut season in the Premier League, and Real Madrid triggered the £50million release clause in his contract to secure his services.

Taking to Instagram, the Spanish Under-21 international posted an emotional tribute to the Bournemouth staff, players and fans, as he said farewell to the Cherries.

Left-back Milos Kerkez, who has been strongly linked with Liverpool, liked the post to show his appreciation.

On Monday (26 May), Kerkez sent Liverpool fans into a frenzy, after his cryptic social media post hinted that his move to Anfield could be imminent.

Bournemouth must recruit well

With Huijsen’s departure already finalised, and Kerkez looking likely to follow his fellow defender out the door, the Cherries are losing two key players.

Things could get worse for Bournemouth, as winger Antoine Semenyo is linked to both Manchester United and Liverpool.

However, in one piece of good news, it is expected that manager Iraola will be in charge of the club at the start of next season, despite recent rumours suggesting he would replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham.

With the Spaniard still at the helm, Bournemouth should be able to replicate their excellent 2024/25 campaign, as long as they bring in sufficient replacements.

The Cherries have already confirmed that 18-year-old Eli Junior Kroupi, a highly-rated French attacker, will be joining in the summer, and the south coast side will be hoping that he can replicate Huijsen’s rapid rise to stardom.
