‘Miss you, pal’ – Erling Haaland sends emotional message as former Man City teammate retires
Erling Haaland has taken to social media to celebrate the career of one of his former Man City teammates after the announcement of their retirement.
Pep Guardiola‘s side experienced a complete overhaul during the summer, with Kevin De Bruyne joining Napoli, Kyle Walker signing for Burnley, and Manuel Akanji also departing the club.
It has been a difficult season of transition for the Citizens, having suffered throughout the entire previous campaign, but the team are now unbeaten in their last nine games across all competitions.
Haaland has only continued his incredible scoring streak, with Jamie Vardy‘s Premier League record possibly in his sights, and it is his comment that caught the attention as Scott Carson announced his retirement.

Taking to Instagram (23 October), Carson wrote: “After an incredible journey between the posts, it’s time to hang up the gloves. Football has given me everything — memories, friendships, and moments I’ll never forget.
“Thank you to every teammate, coach, fan, and club that’s been part of my ride. It’s been an honour,” and several of his City teammates have flooded to the comment section to pay their respects.
Haaland wrote: “Miss you, pal. All the best,” while Kalvin Phillips said: “Legend Scotty, mate, it’s been a pleasure,” and Akanji responded: “Absolute legend! Miss you, mate.”
While he made just two appearances for the Citizens over six years, the 40-year-old has written himself into the history books, helping the squad to claim a total of 12 trophies over that time.

Carson was never going to be a monumental figure on the pitch for the Citzens, but due to his experience and charisma, he remained an important member of the squad over the last few years.
The time has come for him to hang up his boots, but with James Trafford and Gianluigi Donnarumma now fighting for the starting spot between the sticks, the future is bright at the Etihad.
Some supporters have been surprised by Trafford’s lack of game time since returning from Burnley during the summer, but few can complain when watching Donnarumma in action.
The 23-year-old has made just four appearances since making an emotional return. While he will be frustrated by the situation, it would be surprising if Carson had not whispered some advice in his ear.
