Modou Barrow posts message to fans after Leeds win against Bristol City

By Amir Mir

Modou Barrow thanked the Leeds fans for their support after they beat Bristol City 2-1 at Elland Road on Tuesday night in the Championship.

Goals from attacking duo Chris Wood and Pablo Hernandez helped the home side secure a much-needed three points after recent defeats against Cardiff and Huddersfield.

Winger Barrow, who is currently on loan from Premier League side Swansea, came on as a substitute in the second half.

His directness and raw pace in the final third was helpful as Garry Monk’s side pushed themselves over the line for the win in their race for promotion.

After the game, loanee Barrow had this message to the club’s supporters as posted on his personal Twitter account.

“Good three points,” said Barrow. “Massive thanks to the fans yesterday at Elland Road. We keep on going to the next one.”

Barrow made a January switch from the Liberty Stadium to Elland Road as he searched for more game time.

The 24-year-old worked under Monk when the current Whites manager was in charge of the Welsh club in the top tier of English football.

Now, he will be looking to help the highly-rated coach secure a top-six finish in the Championship as the season enters yet another crucial stage.

Barrow is yet to start a game for the Yorkshire club, but he has played two matches as he will be hoping to secure his first start when his side take on Ipswich at Portman Road in their next encounter.
