Mo Salah sparks speculation with cryptic new Liverpool image post

Mohamed Salah took to social media to share a cryptic message about his and his teammates’ Liverpool futures.

The Reds drew 2-2 with bitter rivals Manchester United after squandering a 2-1 lead despite goals from Cody Gakpo and Salah.

The Egyptian has posted cryptic messages about his future before and has once again taken to social media leaving fans guessing.

This time, he posted a picture on X featuring himself alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk—three players who have been under the spotlight recently as their contracts all expire in less than six months.

The trio is now eligible to negotiate pre-contract agreements with other clubs, raising further speculation about their futures at Anfield.

Liverpool continue to be put under pressure by Mohamed Salah

Football Insider opinion

Salah is on course to surpass his best-ever goal contribution season at Anfield, having been in brilliant form this term. He has already notched 21 goals and 17 assists in just 27 games across all competitions.

Last week, in an interview with Sky Sports, the Egyptian forward hinted that this season would likely be his last at the club, citing stalled progress in contract negotiations.

The interview sparked outrage among fans, with many criticising owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) on social media. Now, his latest post featuring two other key players—both of whom could also be on the verge of leaving—has only added fuel to the fire.

The club remain confident of securing new deals for Salah and Van Dijk, despite Salah’s public claims. However, Alexander-Arnold has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, further heightening concerns among supporters.

Is Salah posting this as a call for all three to commit to the club? To reaffirm his loyalty? Or is it another subtle dig at the club’s lack of progress in negotiations? Only he knows for sure—but it’s hard to dismiss the timing of his post as mere coincidence.
