‘Moaning’ Solskjaer ‘doesn’t have a leg to stand on’ amid Man United claim pre-Liverpool – pundit

Frank McAvennie claims Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doesn’t have a leg to stand on after his reported frustration with a lack of transfer support at Man United.

The former West Ham hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insists the Red Devils boss can’t complain about his side’s transfer business.

According to Manchester Evening News (18 October), Solskjaer is frustrated at Man United’s failure to sign a midfielder this summer.

Man United

Solskjaer usually starts Scott McTominay and Fred in midfield with Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes in advanced positions.

The Red Devils have been in poor form in the Premier League with the midfield often criticised.

However, McAvennie claims Solskjaer can’t complain after splashing out over £100million on transfers this summer.

“He doesn’t have a leg to stand on,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He’s signed a world-class centre back along with one of the top young talents in the world.

“That’s before you even get to Ronaldo, who a lot of people said would win them the league.

“If he was that desperate for a midfielder he would have signed one. It’s obvious that is where the improvement is needed.

“I like McTominay, but I am biased. But Fred, he’s just not a good player.

“Pogba is a good player but he doesn’t track back enough. The midfield is one of a few issues there.

“He can’t be moaning, I think that is his favourite thing to do now.”

Man United

Man United have only won one of their last four league games.

They face Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
