Modou Barrow posts Twitter message ahead of possible Leeds debut v Huddersfield
By Harvey Byrne
Leeds loanee Modou Barrow shared on Twitter on Friday evening that he was counting down ahead of his possible debut against Huddersfield on Sunday.
The 24-year-old right-winger made a late deadline-day switch to the Yorkshire giants from Premier League side Swansea.
Manager Garry Monk revealed in his pre-match press conference earlier on Friday that both Barrow and Alfonso Pedraza were available to face the Terriers after missing the midweek clash against Blackburn due to registration rules.
Now, Barrow has shared on his personal Twitter account that he hopes everyone is having a good Friday evening, while also posting “two more sleeps” alongside the ‘marching on together’, ‘Leeds’ and ‘Yorkshire derby’ hashtags.
Barrow is known for his blistering pace, but he hasn’t played a competitive match of football since a 3-0 defeat against Bournemouth back on New Years Eve.
He has featured in 55 matches for the Swans in total since completing a £1.5million move from Swedish side Ostersunds FK in 2014, bringing a return of just two goals and seven assists.
The wideman has also had loan spells at Championship duo Blackburn and Nottingham Forest in that time, but he has returned just one assist in nine matches in total for the pair.
Barrow will now be looking to contribute more to the Leeds team and he will be hoping to play a part in the club’s quest for promotion this season.
