Mohamed Salah Diogo Jota, Curtis Jones, Alisson – Liverpool hit by another injury blow
Liverpool star Diogo Jota is facing two months on the sidelines with knee ligament damage in a devastating blow to the club’s Quadruple dream, sources have told Football Insider.
His injury will see him miss the Reds’ League Cup final against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon (25 February) along with midfielder Curtis Jones.
The pair were forced off the field in the first half of their 4-1 away victory against Brentford on Saturday (17 February).
Jota was subbed off in the 44th minute after a collision with Brentford’s Christian Norgaard.
Jones was hauled off in the 34th minute for Ryan Gravenberch with an ankle injury, and subsequent scans on the pair have confirmed significant time out.
The duo’s injuries add to Jurgen Klopp’s growing list of absentees, with in-form Jota’s extended absence particularly concerning.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has also been ruled out of the Cup final with a knee issue while Dominik Szoboszlai’s and Alisson’s hamstring injuries put their participation in doubt.
There are also whispers from Egypt that Mohamed Salah has suffered a new injury after making his return from a hamstring injury in the Brentford match.
Liverpool stars Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones will not participate in the League Cup final against Chelsea
Jota has enjoyed a prolific season so far having bagged 14 goals and four assists across 28 games in all competitions.
He also faced a lengthy spell in the treatment room throughout December with a muscle injury which forced him to miss five league games and two Europa League group-stage ties.
Jones, who has scored five goals and provided three assists, suffered another ankle injury in the opening weeks of the season.

Liverpool remain at the top of the Premier League after their win against the Bees.
They are next in action at Anfield against Luton Town on Wednesday evening (21 February).
