Mohamed Salah: Key update on star’s future after Liverpool bust-up – sources

Mohamed Salah’s bust-up with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will have no bearing on his future, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the clash on the touchline was a result of frustration from both parties.

Klopp reacted angrily to the 31-year-old winger after he refused to shake his hand while preparing to come on as a substitute against West Ham last month.

O’Rourke has told Football Insider that it wasn’t a good look for the club, but that the incident has been blown out of proportion given that it involved two big characters.

London Stadium incident won’t impact future of Liverpool ace

Liverpool star Salah was angry not to have started the match at the London Stadium, with the winger wanting to play every game and score as many goals as possible.

His manager meanwhile was frustrated at the club’s season having fizzled out, with the Reds dropping out of the Premier League title race and out of the Europa League in recent times.

The incident will not, however, impact Salah’s future at the club, primarily because Klopp will be moving on at the end of the season.

The match in East London finished 2-2, with the Reds slipping to third place in the Premier League table on 75 points.

Liverpool

Arsenal lead the way with 80 points, closely followed by Man City in second with 79, with the latter having a game in hand.
