Mohamed Salah: Saudi club to pay Liverpool ‘hefty fee’ as well as full mega salary
Mohamed Salah could be heading for a Liverpool exit following his public fallout with manager Arne Slot.
Liverpool drew 3-3 with Leeds United on Saturday (6 December), with the winger’s bombshell interview after the game at Elland Road drawing the media’s attention.
Salah admitted he has no relationship with Slot after he was named on the bench for a third match in a row.
Football Insider revealed on Sunday (7 December) Saudi Pro League sides are expected to make offers to sign Salah in the January transfer window.
However, the 33-year-old’s situation is complicated by him competing at the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt, with the tournament starting on 21 December and ending on 18 January in Morocco.

Liverpool took Mohamed Salah gamble after agreeing new deal
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider Saudi clubs could “bail Liverpool out” of the Salah situation once the transfer window opens.
Salah only signed a new two-year contract at Liverpool in April, with his deal expiring in June 2027.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider before Salah’s comments at the weekend, Borson said: “I think the African Nations complicates things, but I don’t think it’s impossible.
“Liverpool always knew, even last season, that the Salah window was closing in terms of how long the player will continue to be super effective.
“They obviously took a view that it was worth one more spin. Get him signed up on a two-year contract and reassess halfway through. Probably the reassessment has come a little bit earlier, but this is what happens.”

Before agreeing his new deal, there was talk earlier this year of Salah receiving a stake in Al-Hilal if he decided to move to Saudi.
Saudi to offer Liverpool ‘significant’ deal
Borson insisted Saudi clubs will take on the winger’s “significant” wage commitments despite his dip in form this season.
“We’ve spoken about it before with some of these older players,” said Borson.
“The drop can be quite sudden from being in form, to just going over the edge and not being quite at the Premier League level. It’s starting to look like that might be the case with Salah.
“I mean, he’s been so consistent over so many years. As far as I can remember, he’s never really had a dip of overall form like this, so you start to think, is it his age and everything else?

“Now, Saudi clearly can bail Liverpool out of the situation. Not only will they presumably pay quite a hefty fee, but they’ll also take on his wage commitment over the next two years, which is really significant.”
Salah, who has played just 45 minutes in the past three Premier League games, has registered five goals and three assists in 19 appearances this season.
