Mohamed Salah shares dressing room update after Liverpool contract reveal
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has taken to social media to share a dressing-room update after admitting he is “far away” from agreeing a new deal at the club.
The 32-year-old took his goal contribution tally to a remarkable 37 in 26 games as Liverpool cruised past West Ham 5-0 to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to eight points.
Luis Diaz opened the scoring on the half-hour mark before Cody Gako doubled their lead just ten minutes later thanks to an assist from Salah.
The Egypt international then got in on the act to make it 3-0, beating West Ham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola at the near-post with a low drive.
Arne Slot’s side didn’t let up after the break, as Trent Alexander-Arnold got his first goal of the season with a long-range effort.
Diogo Jota then rounded off the scoring in the 84th minute, securing an impressive 14th Premier League win of the season so far for Liverpool.
Mohamed Salah cuts Liverpool celebrations short with fresh contract update
Liverpool fans were barely able to celebrate their impressive win over West Ham before Salah gave a concerning contract update.
Speaking to Sky Sports regarding his contract situation after the game, he said: “No, we are far away from that. I don’t want to put something in the media and people start saying stuff, but nothing really [has] moved on but for now I’m focused on the team and hopefully we win the Premier League.”
Salah will be able to negotiate a pre-agreement deal with foreign clubs from January 1st, alongside Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold who are also out of contract at the end of the season.
The forward appeared to be all smiles after the game, however, taking to Instagram to share an image of him and his teammate celebrating the win.

Slot’s side will host Ruben Amorim’s struggling Man United in their first game of 2025 on Sunday (January 5).
They will then travel to North London to face Tottenham in the League Cup semi-final as they seek to retain the trophy.
