Mohamed Salah: Tottenham among Premier League clubs who’ll be happiest as Liverpool star announces exit

Mohamed Salah has confirmed that he will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, in news that will delight some Premier League teams.

The 33-year-old has dominated England’s top flight in his nine years at Anfield, racking up double-digit tallies against much of the league.

But the winger has struggled to recapture the form he showed last season, and announced on Tuesday that this would be his last campaign with the Reds.

Salah has agreed to waive the final year of his contract, allowing him to join any team interested this summer.

Liverpool transfer chiefs will begin the process of replacing him in the coming months, with several names already linked to Anfield.

Mohamed Salah tortured Tottenham and Manchester United

Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider this month that Liverpool were ready to receive bids for Salah from the Saudi Pro League.

It is no secret that Saudi Arabia has wanted the Egyptian star to join one of its clubs for some time now, and that hope could become reality this summer.

Just as he has done in the Premier League, the forward is bound to quickly become a thorn in the side of the teams he does not join.

Tottenham have been among the biggest victims of Salah’s, conceding a staggering 16 goals to the winger over the course of 25 games – some of those came while he was with Fiorentina, Basel, and Chelsea.

But the Egyptian’s favourite opponent undoubtedly came in the form of Man United.

In just 18 games against the Red Devils, Salah scored 16 goals and provided six assists, including a hat-trick at Old Trafford and three braces. He will play his 19th and likely last game against them at Old Trafford in May.

On a results level, West Ham have suffered. Liverpool played 19 games against the Hammers with their star winger featuring, and won 16 of them, while he scored 13 goals and provided seven assists.

What teams can Salah add to his tallies against this season?

Liverpool’s remaining seven games of the Premier League season come against Fulham, Everton, Crystal Palace, Man United, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Brentford.

In the FA Cup, Salah will face Man City for the final time in April, and will look to add to the 13 goals and eight assists he has against them already.

The most notable fixture perhaps comes in the form of the forward’s 15th and final Merseyside derby, however, which will be the first one to take place at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Salah has eight goals and three assists against Everton, and has seven wins. He can be assured that he will get a send-off from the Toffees – whether it’s a nice one remains to be seen.
