Mohamed Salah’s transfer plan is certain, I’ve been there and it’s going to happen
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is unlikely to entertain any offer to move to the MLS over a big-money Saudi deal.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who believes Salah will become the new face of Saudi football.
Salah’s future at Liverpool is uncertain, and a move to Saudi Arabia is on the cards, after claiming he had been “thrown under the bus” by the club.
Liverpool fans cheered Salah at Anfield before their 2-0 win against Brighton, and the Egyptian came off the bench to potentially make his final appearance for the club.
Mohamed Salah to be ‘megastar’ in Saudi
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – states Salah is already a “big star” in Saudi Arabia.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness believes Salah could replace Cristiano Ronaldo as the leading figure in Saudi football.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “It’s going to be Saudi. It’s got to be the Saudi Premier League. I mean, there’s been some talk of the MLS, but I don’t see that happening at all. I think he’s going to go to Saudi.
“I mean, I’ve been down there a number of times recently, and it’s hard to say just how big a star he is in the Middle East, being Egyptian, but also within Saudi, he is like, you know, a huge figure.
“And if you look at the timing of Ronaldo now on the way out of the Saudi Premier League, they do need another megastar and Salah is the ready-made replacement. So the timing makes sense.”

Salah could join ex-Liverpool teammate at next club
Salah did a lap of the Anfield pitch after Liverpool’s win over Brighton, with the 33-year-old now set to represent his country at the African Cup of Nations.
The Egyptian will be unavailable to Slot until the new year, meaning Salah could have been waving goodbye to Liverpool fans before a January departure.
Al-Hilal are currently leading the race for Salah, who are also home to former Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez.
