‘Mohammed Kudus makes Tottenham decision amid West Ham’s Chelsea hope’
Tottenham have learned Mohammed Kudus’ preferred destination this summer as West Ham expect a significant bid from Chelsea.
The 24-year-old Ghanaian seriously underwhelmed during the 2024/25 campaign, notching just five goals and four assists in 35 appearances as the Hammers finished 14th in the Premier League table.
It was an extremely difficult season at the London Stadium, under both Graham Potter and Julen Lopetegui, and Stefan Borson told Football Insider that West Ham will be planning a complete rebuild.
Supporters have been split over keeping the former Ajax winger, who arrived on a £38million deal in 2023 [BBC Sport], and despite his poor form, several clubs are interested in the player’s signature.
Two London clubs appear to be locked in a battle ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, and it looks as though Kudus has chosen his next club.

Mohammed Kudus chooses Tottenham ahead of Chelsea
According to the Daily Mail (8 July), Spurs are expected to make an improved bid for Kudus after having a £50million offer turned down, with the player making it clear his wishes to sign for the Lilywhites.
It is understood that the Hammers were expecting a bigger bid from Chelsea, but due to the player’s preferred destination now emerging, a move to North London appears more likely.
Enzo Maresca’s side have already added Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens to their attack this summer.
Potter’s side need to sell this summer, and despite Kudus having an £85m release clause in his current contract, the Irons could accept much lower, with Spurs wanting to compromise around £60-£65m.

Graham Potter must kickstart West Ham reign
Football Insider verdict
Supporters are already kicking up a fuss at Potter’s reign, having won just five of his first 19 matches in charge, and no real signs of improvement after replacing Lopetegui.
With the beginnings of a revolving door of managers, however, it seems unlikely that David Sullivan and Karren Brady are going to pull the trigger on yet another head figure.
Instead, the former Brighton and Chelsea figure deserves at least one summer transfer window before being properly judged, with plenty of deadweight in the squad right now.

Mick Brown told Football Insider that West Ham are eyeing a new “top-class” defender after only five teams conceded more goals in the Premier League last term, but the squad needs so much reinforcement.
While Kudus has not been at the races for months, his departure would leave a massive gap in the Hammers’ attack, leaving Jarrod Bowen even more isolated in the final third.
Crysencio Summerville still has a long way to go with his injury return, leaving Niclas Fullkrug and Lucas Paqueta as his fellow forwards for the upcoming campaign.
