Mohammed Kudus set for ‘five-game West Ham ban’ after ‘flooring players’
West Ham star Mohammed Kudus ‘wanted to knock everybody out’ after receiving a red card in their 4-1 defeat to London rivals Tottenham earlier in the season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie admits that the 24-year-old ‘deserves’ whatever punishment he gets after he received a red card for pushing Spurs defender Micky van de Ven.
Kudus opened the scoring at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium after just 18 minutes with a lovely close-range effort but things quickly fell apart for West Ham shortly after half-time.
Tottenham scored three goals in just eight minutes to make it 4-1 and secure a much-needed win after an underwhelming start to the season.
West Ham looking good without Mohammed Kudus
Luckily for Kudus, his absence wasn’t as keenly felt as first anticipated as Julen Lopetegui’s side beat Man United 2-1 in their next Premier League game, ultimately getting Erik ten Hag fired.
The Ghana international still has two games left to serve of his three-game suspension and will miss their next two Premier League matches against Nottingham Forest and Everton.
“He’s going to get charged, he was like Rambo”, McAvennie told Football Insider.
“He was wanting to knock everyone out, but it is what it is.
“They scored three goals in four minutes or something. Well, not four minutes, but it was very short piece of time.
“When we went 1-0 up, I thought they were going to win it. I thought, well, we’re doing a job here, but obviously not, it wasn’t to be.
“It doesn’t matter what he gets, he deserves it because of what he’s done, we’re going to miss him because he’s such a talented player.
“And he’s been one of the shining lights at West Ham at the moment.

“So we’ll miss him for five games or something, I think he floored a couple of other players, after that.
“Yeah, you’ve got to calm down, son. Yeah, listen, he’s a talented player but it’s time now for other players to step up.”
