‘Mohammed Kudus wants to quit West Ham and join Liverpool’

Mohammed Kudus is open to a move away from West Ham this summer amid interest from the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City.

That is according to former West Ham and Man United scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Liverpool in particular have been keeping an eye on the 24-year-old.

However, there are questions about whether he would be capable of making the step up after a disappointing season at the London Stadium.

Football Insider revealed Liverpool could sign Kudus for a fee lower than his £80million release clause in the summer transfer window.

The Reds have been keeping an eye on the Ghana international’s progress, but with just four goals in 29 starts so far this season, they are not convinced.

This comes after Brown told Football Insider in January that Kudus must step up for West Ham before he can earn a big move amid interest from Arsenal.

Mohammed Kudus update emerges at Liverpool watch on

Brown told Football Insider West Ham could accept cut-price offers for Kudus as they plan to make a profit but clubs are unlikely to meet his release clause.

Now, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that the winger would “jump at the opportunity” to join Liverpool.

Liverpool have been looking at Mohammed Kudus,” he told Football Insider.

“He wants to make that move and will jump at the opportunity if an offer arrives.

“He scored his first goal of the year against Brighton, and all season he’s only got four – for a player of his ability and talent, that’s not good enough.

“The way he plays is going to catch your eye, but for most of the game he’s not doing enough.

“I think that’s the conclusion Liverpool will come to, as will other clubs who have been watching.

“He certainly isn’t doing enough to convince these clubs it would be worth spending £80million on him.

“His talent is unquestionable, but he isn’t producing it enough to earn a move to these top sides.

“I have no doubt he’s a name on Liverpool’s list, but if they’re going to replace their current options, it has to be with players who will improve their starting XI.

“I don’t think Kudus, with the way he’s played for West Ham, is going to be the one they go for.”

Tomas Soucek update emerges after David Moyes twist

Another key player who could be set to leave West Ham this summer is Tomas Soucek, who has been linked with moves to Everton and Leeds United.

Football Insider revealed on 29 April that Soucek could push to reunite with David Moyes at Everton this summer if they make a move.

However, the deal may be difficult to do as the midfielder is still seen as a strong squad member and is contracted at the London Stadium until 2027.

This comes after Football Insider revealed West Ham could accept £10million for Soucek as there are doubts about his role in Graham Potter’s side.
