Moises Caicedo reacts emotionally to Chelsea exit announcement
Moises Caicedo reacted after a departure from Chelsea was confirmed on social media.
The Ecuadorian midfielder has gradually come into his own after a tough start to life at Stamford Bridge.
Caicedo joined Chelsea from Brighton for a then-British record fee of £115million [Sky Sports] but the midfielder struggled to meet expectations.

However, last season was the Ecuador international’s best in West London, as Enzo Maresca used him in a variety of positions, including as a replacement right-back at times.
Caicedo established himself as the best holding midfielder in the Premier League last term, although he will face a struggle retaining that title, given that Rodri has now returned after a long injury layoff.
Kendry Paez joins Strasbourg on loan
Kendry Paez signed for Chelsea in June 2023, but the youngster was unable to join the Blues until he turned 18.
The Ecuadorian wonderkid has long been touted as a future star, although his off-field decision-making may need some fine-tuning, as he has been involved in a series of scandals related to his partying.
However, the youngster finally joined Chelsea this summer, only to almost immediately depart again, as Paez will move to Strasbourg on loan this summer, the club announced on Instagram.
Caicedo reacted to the post, showing his support for his young countryman.
Kendry Paez will benefit from loan stint
Football Insider Verdict
Much was, and still is, expected of Paez. The Ecuadorian starlet already has 18 caps for his nation, despite only turning 18 years of age in May.
However, after getting himself wrapped up in some wholly avoidable off-pitch scandals, expectations have been tempered.
That is why the loan move to France is so needed for the youngster.

At Chelsea, there is the very real risk of Paez becoming forgotten about and not receiving the game-time or attention that he requires during this formative period of his career.
Under Liam Rosenior, the attacking midfielder will be given the licence to continue being creative, and will likely blossom as a result.
