Moises Caicedo responds to Pedro Neto’s announcement after Chelsea masterclass
Moises Caicedo was among the Chelsea players to react to a standout announcement involving Pedro Neto following their most recent win.
Chelsea got their Club World Cup campaign off to the perfect start with a 2-0 victory over LAFC in Atlanta.
Neto stole the show with a brilliant solo goal for Chelsea, causing real problems for the opposition throughout the match. Liam Delap also caught the eye on his debut, coming off the bench and making an immediate impact.
Delap played a key role in the second goal, making a clever run into the channel before delivering a pinpoint cross for Enzo Fernandez to slot home and seal the result.
Meanwhile, Dario Essugo also made his Chelsea debut after completing his £18.5 million move from Sporting CP.
But it was Neto who grabbed the headlines with his performance, and was recognised with a special achievement and one that didn’t go unnoticed by a teammate.

Pedro Neto set to prove doubters wrong after Club World Cup award
Following an excellent performance, Chelsea confirmed Neto had been named Player of the Match after their 2-0 win over LAFC.
Caicedo showed support by liking the post, while Neto also liked and reposted the announcement.
Neto recently won Chelsea’s Goal of the Season for his decisive strike against Fulham during their Champions League run-in—and after his display in Atlanta, this week may just be one of his best yet in a Chelsea shirt.
However, Chelsea fans have previously grown frustrated with Neto and his lack of end product. Despite regular starts on the wing, he scored just four Premier League goals in 35 appearances last season, which is below expectations given his £54 million price tag.
Now, the Club World Cup offers him the perfect chance to win supporters over and make the winger position his own.
Chelsea eye Alejandro Garnacho transfer in winger search

Despite Neto’s impact, the Blues are still actively exploring winger options ahead of the new season.
After they rejected the chance to sign Jadon Sancho permanently, and Mykhailo Mudryk’s uncertain future, they are active in the market.
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown has claimed Chelsea are preparing a move for Alejandro Garnacho, with United reportedly willing to sell.
Football Insider also revealed on 14 June that Garnacho is interested in remaining in the Premier League if he leaves Man United this summer—a development that would certainly benefit Chelsea.
Napoli have shown interest before, but it remains to be seen whether Chelsea will push ahead with a formal offer.
