Moises Caicedo sends ‘top’ message to Malo Gusto after Chelsea beat Tottenham

Moisés Caicedo has sent a message to teammate Malo Gusto on social media following Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Tottenham.

Cole Palmer returned to the Chelsea starting eleven against Tottenham, after missing the club’s defeat away to Arsenal prior to the International break, with a fine assist for Enzo Fernandez to set up the winning goal.

The 22-year-old picked out the unmarked run of the captain for a simple headed finish to secure all three-points and move Chelsea up to fourth.

It means Enzo Maresca’s men sit one point above Manchester City in their pursuit for Champions League football next season, with eight league games remaining.

Cacedio reacts to Gusto’s message

In a post on Instagram (Friday, 4 April), Gusto said: “We felt your energy tonight, we fought for you!

“London is ours tonight!’

The Ecuadorian replied to the post with a comment: “Top.”

Chelsea looking to finish the season strongly

Maresca and his players will not want Champions League qualification to slip away at this stage of the season.

Despite the Italian coach only being appointed in July 2024, Maresca not only inherited a squad ready to compete for top four, but has added multiple signings of his own.

Pedro Neto, Joao Felix and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have all been brought to the club since his arrival and while the two latter have not worked out thus far, he does not have the excuse of no financial backing.

Chelsea’s next five Premier League fixtures.

Chelsea start the first of their next five Premier League fixtures away to Brentford before welcoming Ipswich to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues finish this run with home matches against Everton and Liverpool, in fixtures which could mean little for the two Merseyside clubs, as Liverpool will likely have won the league with Everton safe from relegation.
