‘Moises Caicedo set for pay rise after Chelsea contract update’
Chelsea star Moises Caicedo could be set to extend his contract at Stamford Bridge after a new update has emerged.
The 23-year-old is the London giants’ record signing, having joined from Brighton for £115million in August 2023.
The Ecuador international has played a key role under Enzo Maresca this season, starting in 39 of his 41 appearances as they go in pursuit of a return to Champions League football.
Caicedo is believed to be a top target for Al-Nassr as the Saudi Pro League side look to add to their midfield options.
However, the Telegraph reported on 5 May Chelsea are expected to discuss rewarding Caicedo with a new contract this summer.
Finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider the midfielder could receive a 25 per cent uplift on his current deal at Stamford Bridge.
Caicedo is under contract until 2031 after signing an eight-year deal with the club following his arrival from Brighton.
Chelsea currently sit fifth in the Premier League table, with five Champions League spots on offer to top-flight clubs this season.

Chelsea to block Moises Caicedo exit as talks planned
Borson insisted Chelsea are set to offer Caicedo a new contract to ensure he doesn’t leave the club.
He told Football Insider: “I guess if you believe what they’ve said about how they structured the contracts, the better you play and the more success there is on the pitch, the more they’re going to renegotiate the contracts back up to the levels that apparently are comparable with the rest of the league.
“Now, I’m pretty sceptical that they’re paying anybody lower than market rate, particularly a player like Caicedo, where he was bought in competition with other teams.
“I don’t really get that, and it’s not borne out by the overall wage numbers.
“I suspect they’re just rewarding a player who they see as being a central part of the team for the next five years and making sure that he’s properly remunerated and isn’t swayed to go elsewhere.
“You would think given everything they’ve said about their incentivisation that next season in any event if they get Champions League, and I think they probably will now, you would think that him and a number of those players are all going to have 20-25 per cent uplifts anyway if everything we’ve been told about their salary structure is to be believed.”

Aston Villa respond to Chelsea’s Morgan Rogers swoop
Football Insider revealed on 6 May Aston Villa will do everything to keep Morgan Rogers following new interest from Chelsea.
Unai Emery is desperate to keep hold of the England international, but Villa acknowledge they will have to accept offers that are too good to turn down.
The attacking midfielder is happy with the West Midlands giants and interested clubs will have to stump up a mega-money fee to sign him this summer.
