Moises Caicedo wowed by ‘freak’ Chelsea teammate in new message

Nicolas Jackson’s future is still up in the air at Chelsea as multiple Premier League clubs line up offers for the striker.

Chelsea‘s transfer business so far this summer has seen Jackson slide down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, with Liam Delap and Joao Pedro both making instant impacts at the Club World Cup.

Jackson’s impact at the tournament was overshadowed by a reckless red card against Flamengo, as Delap netted on his full debut and Joao Pedro scored three times across the semi-finals and final itself.

The former Ipswich and Brighton duo have both overtaken Jackson in Enzo Maresca‘s attacking stocks as the Blues prepare for the new campaign, and this has opened the door for a potential departure.

Football Insider revealed on 22 July that Manchester United have been told to pay £80million for the Senegal international, but Chelsea’s price tag could yet drop as the summer transfer window progresses.

Jackson ready for Chelsea return amid transfer speculation

Football Insider has also revealed that Aston Villa have initiated talks with Chelsea over a potential deal to sign Jackson this summer, with Unai Emery keen to reunite with the striker after their spell at Villarreal.

Jackson played a bit-part role in Chelsea’s Club World Cup success as the speculation over his future continues, with the likes of Delap, Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer all coming to the fore for Maresca’s side.

The 24-year-old has still made the most of his delayed summer break and posted on Instagram (28 July) after spending much of it in his home country of Senegal, captioning the post with a ‘beach’ emoji.

Chelsea duo Moises Caicedo and Pedro Neto were quick to comment, with the Ecuadorian calling Jackson “El Freaky” and Neto adding; “The legendary Nicolas Jacksoooonnn”.

Jackson exit on the cards as Chelsea set out transfer stance

Football Insider Verdict

Aston Villa and Man United’s interest in Jackson could escalate before the end of this summer’s window, albeit Mick Brown told Football Insider that Man United are unlikely to do so for anything close to £80m.

A move to Villa Park looks far likelier after Football Insider revealed that Chelsea have offered to swap Jackson as part of a deal for Morgan Rogers, but such transfers are always much easier said than done.

Jackson was Chelsea’s only natural option up front last season and played a big part in their return to the Champions League, and though the Blues would be happy to keep him, his departure could be the best move for all parties.
