Morelos could now be sold by Rangers after Ibrox reveal today – McLeish
Alex McLeish has insisted Rangers will still listen to offers for the likes of Alfredo Morelos despite Nathan Patterson’s big-money move to Everton.
The former Gers manager, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, admitted further departures would “free up money” for Giovanni van Bronckhorst to sign his own targets.
As revealed by Football Insider today (5 January), Rangers will demand a top-bracket fee for Morelos as they do not need to cash in following Patterson’s £12million-plus sale.

They are unlikely to receive a bid from Newcastle, with a recruitment source telling this site the Magpies are pursuing other striker targets.
However, McLeish admitted he would not rule out further movement – both in and out of Ibrox – this month.
Asked if Patterson’s exit could see Rangers hold on to other players like Morelos, McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “If they start seeing the potential of those figures coming in then you couldn’t rule out someone else going.
“It would free up money for a choice of one or two for Van Bronckhorst. I’m sure he’s got different people in mind. He’ll have a different strategy and plan in his mind.
“What better than getting a few bob to spend? It allows you to pick the players of your choice. Not just saying: ‘Okay, we think this guy’s good and we think he’ll potentially be good.’
“He’ll probably go for some players he really knows and trusts.”

As revealed by Football Insider (4 January), Rangers could pocket up to £16million for Patterson’s sale due to add-ons.
The young defender signed a £28,000-a-week contract at Goodison Park.
In other news, a second Rangers player has agreed a move to an English club after Patterson.
