Celtic are set to complete the signing of attacker Lewis Morgan from St Mirren soon, with the Daily Mail reporting that the deal is set to be done this week for a fee worth £300,000 and with Morgan spending the rest of the season with the Paisley side.
Morgan is 21-years-old, and is arguably the star of the St Mirren side that’s currently top of the Championship, having scored three goals in his last two games.
What the player must do to be a success at the Scottish champions is to find a way to stand-out.
If you look at some of the previous occasions that Celtic have signed the stand-out young player from a Scottish club., the likes of Scott Allan and to a lesser extent Ryan Christie have failed at Celtic Park and are out on loan.
Christie at least still has a chance of making it with the Hoops, but Allan has no chance and you’d have to think will be leaving the club in the summer.
Morgan has to hit the ground running when he arrives in the summer. There is a chance he may be involved in one of Celtic’s four Champions League qualification rounds, and a good performance in those games would bode well for his future.
