Morgan Rogers and Jacob Ramsey react to Ezri Konsa amid transfer rumours

Aston Villa stars Morgan Rogers and Jacob Ramsey could be part of a mass exodus from the club this summer.

Amid PSR issues, Villa have endured a tough transfer window with few incomings and plenty of speculation around many of their key players.

Pre-season results have also not gone to plan for Unai Emery’s side with a shock 1-0 defeat to League 2 Walsall followed up with a 3-1 loss to Hansa Rostock.

Villa managed a 2-2 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt in their last outing in the USA as they gear up for their opening day league fixture at home to Newcastle United.

Rogers stars in latest pre-season encounter

Following the result against Frankfurt, defender Ezri Konsa took to Instagram to share pictures from the match with the caption: “us,” which was liked by Rogers and Ramsey.

Rogers scored Villa’s second goal in the draw, whilst Ramsey also started the game, despite both players’ futures being up in the air.

Villa will next faces matches in America against Louis City SC and Nashville SC before they return to England.

Shock Emery warning ahead of new season

Football Insider Verdict

Emery has been issued with a stark warning that he could face the sack next season if Villa do not get their transfer window in order.

The club could face a mass exodus with several first team stars potentially leaving Villa Park to help with PSR rules.

Ramsey has been linked with a move to Tottenham and Nottingham Forest, but Everton are now plotting a move for the 24-year-old.

Rogers meanwhile has a £100m valuation placed on him, and Chelsea are exploring a potential move for the attacking midfielder.

Goalkeeper Emi Martinez is also a target for Chelsea as well as Manchester United, whilst striker Ollie Watkins could also depart with Newcastle in need of a striker.

Villa missed out on Champions League football last season by the finest of margins, but the gap between them and top five could significantly widen if stars leave and are not replaced.

That opening day clash against Newcastle could be between two sides who are suffering the most in this transfer window, with the Toon also experiencing problems in the market.
